"Hello. Just throwing another machine into the mix. I have an old Bernina 730 record and it never misses a beat. I picked it up from my local sewing machine repair man for about $200, serviced and ready to go. I have a newer digital Bernina but I…"

So pleased you found my site Hat Academy on the internet, Carena. Millinery is such a creative Art. Hope this site inspires you to learn these techniques and you will be surprised what you create. I am here to help you and only an email away. I live on the Sunshine Coast - a fellow Queenslander. Have a great Cup Day... next year wearing your own designer piece!!

To make the most of Hat Academy remember to read through the Welcome Page - Read here

Enjoy, Elaine

Hi! Carena, Rose is a fantastic lady, she was milliner to our Queen Mother before the Queen Mothers death.  She has great patience and can make a pig ear into a silk HAT. LOL

Hi! Carena, no Rose isn't Tech savvy,  it sometimes takes Rose a little while to answer her emails unless she has someone doing it for her now. Her workshops are very reasonable but as its Black Heath London it can be pricey for accommodation. Shelagh

Hi Carena, thanks for your lovely feedback. The hat was all blocked using traditional millinery blocking techniques (there was no thermoplastic in the hat at all). The yellow centre triangle was blocked with parasisal straw with one layer of Sinamay over the top and a layer of white vintage veiling. The outer triangle was blocked white leather over 2 layers of foundation material. Cheers, Rebecca Share :)
