I Love Hats Because?
They are an extension of the soul for me. One make express themselves by clothing style but the hat is an exclamation mark. It evokes emotion.
About Me
I am a French Room trained milliner which means "hand-sewn" with attention to detail. I love to work with buckram and various fabric coverings.

Hello Fellow Hatters and Others!!

My style is vintage with my own twist. I am the head milliner for a Steampunk clothing store www.clockworkcouture.com. I also take custom orders for outside clients and work from my own home workshop. My media is primarily buckram based frames that are covered with fabric and vintage/found odds and ends. I have been trained in what is called French Room millinery or literally "sewn by hand".

I am so happy to have found a millinery community as hat making has faded with the last few decades. I am hoping it makes a victorious comeback! Thank you for checking out my work.

Sincerely,

Shurie Southcott
