Elsie Collins said… Hi Maggie,
I'm staying busy, and having such fun with sinamay this summer. I just finished my very first wedding hat, and got such a nice compliment from Reiner Waltraub, and lots of likes from our fellow milliners!!! I'm finding these fragile sinamays with large brims, to be a nightmare to ship!!! SO expensive!!!
I also taught my first sinamay class last weekend, and we had such fun!!! I need to update my blog with photos soon. Also, I'm about to restore a very thickly felted hat for a client, but it is SO thick, I wonder if it will reblock? I think steam may not be enough to make it pliable. Do you think I should saturate it in boiling water for a bit first?
