they complete an ensemble. They can be practical and a work of art.
About Me
I completed a Fashion Studies Certificate way back in 1984 and during the course made a cream fedora trimmed with black grosgrain. I loved it and wore it often. I hadn't made anything else until two years ago when I left full-time employment and dreamt of developing a business making veils, bridal headpieces and fascinators even though I had only a little bit of millinery experience all those years ago. I have always enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet, screenprinting, quilting, applique, dabbling in whatever creative art I would like to try, even though I wouldn't say I am terribly artistic. So I am learning as I go but am pleased to say that in the last two years I have helped a few brides achieve the look they desired for their special day. I have also made a few raceday fascinators but plan to learn much more about hat making in the future.
Thrilled to have you join me Leanne. Love it when another Qlder starts lessons. I live on Sunshine Coast. Hope you find the site inspiring and learn tips & techniques.
In 1984 was your Millinery teacher Elizabeth Reynolds as I was teaching in TAFE in 80s in that period. You will be surprised how much you do recall. It is such a Creative Art. I am here to help and answer questions.

Congratulations on starting your first lesson! To kick off make sure you have read through Getting Started and FAQs. Any questions on individual modules please ask by clicking "Lesson Discussions" located on the lesson video page.
I am launching lessons on Headpieces, fascinators and cocktail hats next week as I have just spent another day with Videographer editing them but for bridal it will help you create some fabulous pieces.
Flower making & French flowermaking will be filmed in new year. I have done so much in Bridal over years using brides fabric to create everything to co-ordinate . I have been asked to teach veils as well.
Glad TAFe did not have enough numbers - means not enough wanting to learn it & YOU have the market. I am still manufacturing Knocked a bride back a month ago for veil as Spring racing upon me with Academy work as well. Good $$ to be made with veils. Will teach you birdcage as well. After Magic Millions and I teach @ USQ Summer School in mid Jan then in February start filming again. I have students in UK wanting Bridal as well as girl in Scotland. Keep in touch - Elaine
