Profile Information

I Love Hats Because?
They make me feel elegant and confident (a new me if you like), are the perfect finishing touch to a woman's outfit, and can hide the worst bad hair day..
About Me
I learnt millinery from my Mum, no formal training or courses ever undertaken but I fiddle and faddle with all sorts, learning from further from experience (trial and error). My creations are unique and exclusive one off designs - mostly for family and close friends. My long term plan was to form a Millinery Business with my daughter and niece and eventually give up my "day job" as a full time Practice Manager, however sudden serious illness forced to up work completely, life and plans changed drastically and not able to "hat" much last the past four years, but keeping my hobby going as best I can, and loving it.. My craft keeps me somewhat sane, making hats for family and friends. Blessed with marvellous hubby and 3 grown children. We wore hats to church from childhood, called them "lids" so my label is Friz Lids (nickname being Friz). Our church has a charity market every June and 3 or 4 of us get into Millinery Mode hatting away refurbishing preloved hats and making new designs all donated for sale for this annual event. Lauren Williams (nee Brandt) is also a member of our local church community and contributes her lovely designs to our stall. I am now restricted and confined to my home, living in seclusion, so don't get out and about anymore to see my hats being worn, but am supported so many lovely friends and enjoy perusing posted photos of all the happy events. I appreciate the support and comments by the experienced and talented milliners in this group - thank you.
