Millinery Glue - Productions Concoctions

Hi I was watching a construction video on Stephen Jones YouTube channel, I wondered what kind of adhesive is being used to fuse the fabrics together, I've spoken to a fellow milliner who suggested it was a concoction including alcohol, which means it remains manipulable but still maintains an instant secure bond?? If anyone could off further insight, I would be very grateful!! Link provided below...

Henry I've just had a look at the Stephen Jones's video and the glue being used is rubber solution, it is petrol based so you must be in a well ventilated area when using it. I was taught to spread it very thinly as it adds to the weight of the of the hat. The way we stuck velvet using dry sticking technique was by thinly spread the solution on both layers leave for 15 minuits and then bring the two layers together, it is possible to reposition the layers if there was any uneveness. Hope this helps, happy stitching. Evelyne

Oh Fantastic! That was very helpful indeed! I will have to experiment with it! Many Thanks Evelyne..just out of interest, where did you study?

Glad to be of help Henry and I learnt millinery for the last two years of secondary school and the London Collage of Fashion. Kind Regards Evelyne

This worked really well! Thank you!
