Crown to big
I have bought a basic sinamay hat but it's too big for my head approx inch and a half . A any ideas how I can decrease it's size,and have it permanently fixed.

I have heard that if it has an internal band you can put insulating tape ( stuff that you put onto doors to stop the wind) inside the band. Not done it myself but worth a try.

You can place a sweat band with elastic to fit your head in the hat rather than the traditional swirled sweatband. You can also add a drawstring to the sweatband that can be pulled and tied to your specific fit.
