I have just acquired several lengths of vintage straw cloth, most likely produced in the ‘50’s-‘60’s. It has been sitting in an old warehouse for decades and has become quite dusty with some spots of dirt. Is there a good way to clean it?

Best way to clean is with an alcohol based wipe as it will not wet surface but pick up dust & dirt. Baby wipes usually do not contain alcohol so not suitable. Always test on small area first. Glad it is not old age stains as that is a bigger challenge. Lucky you for such a find as the rest of us are very envious. Enjoy using it in your millinery. As I was trained in 60s it was all very much part of my millinery. - Elaine
