My addiction for millinery started in 2007 when I went to Edinburgh for a week's millinery course with Yvette Jelfs. I definitely got the bug. After that, I did 4 days in what was Wombourne Academy in the UK. Then in 2008 I met Linda McKay. I did a weekend course with her, followed by a 5 day intensive course with her, and introduced my sister Brenda Campbell to millinery too.
it's been a joint hobby for both of us since. We've had little breaks together doing courses. I've done:
5 days with Bridget Bailey in Ennis Creative Arts Centre in Ireland
various weekends with Lina Stein
2 day course with Justine Bradley Hill
1 week bridal course in Chateau Dumas, France, with Dillon Wallwork and Awon Golding.
I've met so many truly wonderful people on these courses, tutors and students. I've definitely had the most amazing experinces, learning new skills and meeting new people that I will never forget.
There's just one tutor who is on my wish list of courses I'd like to do, and that is Rebecca Share. I love her style and her ideas. Here's hoping she will come to Ireland or the UK or else I'll have to make a trip to Australia!
