"I experiment this last year and it's not so easy to find the good background because of the different colors on a hat."

I Love Hats Because?
Vintage felt hats are my passion, especially tilt toppers from the late 1930s-early 1940s. I adore faux bird tilt hats most of all. There is just something so comical about a little faux bird peeking over the brim at you!

Recent Millinery Creations...

I've got something of an obsession for 1930s/1940s-style hats, as you can see...

Recently, I teamed up with my woodworking husband to create a 1940s-themed fedora hat block.  What I love about this particular style of fedora is its versatility.  I've created two completely different hats using this block: one has more of a Mad Hatter/steampunk quality, the other is what I would call a classic vintage style.

I also recently created a strikingly elegant faux bird tilt hat, using an authentic mid-1940s wide brim hat block.

The most stunning element of this particular hat is its amazing vintage detail veiling.  The workmanship is exquisite!  The bottom of the veiling consists of an intricate pattern of flowers (possibly roses or maybe peonies?).

All hats pictured are available for purchase in my Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JillianOriginals
