- I have always sewn my own outfits, and some years ago started to make small headpieces to go with them. In 2018 I decided to take some more formalised training with Hat Academy and have received my certificate of completion. Thus Purple Haze Headwear was born. I have since enjoyed making all sorts of headwear for a variety of clients, often with some sort of vintage spin. All of my pieces are one of a kind. I don't have time to repeat myself! I always have so many ideas for the next project. My pieces are handstitched and blocked using traditional methods at my home studio in the very beautiful tropical paradise that is Goldsborough Valley in Far North Queensland. My headwear is worn for race meets, dog shows, special lunches and even everyday! I enjoy working with a variety of media - straws, leather, felt, silk, pearls and gemstones - and am always keen to have a go at something new.
