They add character and let your personality shine.
About Me
Sydney based milliner who previously had a shop in Paddington & Marrickville now have my Showroom in Bexley Sydney

I have been making hats and headpieces for over 17 years now and couldn't imagine my life without it.
When you find your passion in life there is no stopping you no matter what gets in your way.

My obsession for hats started at a young age as my father owned an an antique brass bed shop in sydney bohemian Oxford street Paddington in the late 80's
Growing up around antiques and travelling the world opened up my eye to another world I would get lost in Antique stores always drawn to hats & vintage clothes.
I loved the very thought of the history behind the object and the craftsmanship, and the thought of who owned that item and what was their life like always fascinated me and let me escape to the yesteryear.

With a big collection of vintage hats that inspired me to create my own ,So i recreated that dream by studying milliner at Tafe in 2005.

Also having studied fashion design,make up artistry and visual merchandising all my talents came together

I love to experiment with different materials and techniques, and collect fabrics,vintage trims from around the world.

I opened my first shop in my father’s old shop in Paddington and thats where The House Of Hats was born.

The House Of Hats has featured in Australia’s glossy editorials such as Harpers Bazaar,Elle ,Grazia,Cosmopolitan,Cleo,Sydney bride,CosmoBride
Bride to Be, Nine to Five, Australian Traveller and featured on Australia’s Next Top Model,fashion campaigns such as Wrangler and Valley Girl ,the Tv show REIGN and Sydney Titanic Exhibition.

All my hats and headpieces are handmade using traditional millinery techniques and are wearable art with a vintage twist.

Wonderful you found our website Ilana .So pleased you have joined me in Hat Academy and hope you find it inspiring. I am committed to helping you add to your skills.

I set his up to help Beginners but hope you pick up added tips-once you learn the basic techniques you will be surprised how creative you can be. Millinery is a creative art & in huge demand currently. Any questions do message me here.
