About Me
I've studied Millinery for over 15 years through trial an error, researching books and the internet. In the last 6 years have made a point in attending workshops at least twice a year, my latest being in the South of France. I've studied Japanese Sambana silk flower making techniques in Japan and now apply the techniques to almost all of my work. I work full time as a Milliner for 11 months of the year.

Welcome to Hat Academy Helen !

There are great opportunities to market hats in Darwin. I wholesaled there for years. Such a wonderful opportunity to go and learn in France lucky you!!  You are very wise to learn from a variety of Milliners as we each have our Strengths but also our weaknesses. I am here to help in any way I can as I have such a Passion to share my skills & experience.

Feel free to share your hat or headpiece creations, join in or start a hatters discussion. Remember online help is a click away. To begin with Lessons check out our Get Started page. I am looking forward to sharing Millinery techniques, ideas and fashion news with you.

Enjoy, Elaine

Congratulations on starting your Bundle Helen. Love you work as you are adding that little twist plus you are designing with vintage touch. This is not going to go away soon especially with Gatsby movie. The milliner who worked on these movie pieces is a member & all theatre work I receive pass on to her now. She is working on King Kong hats also, again 20s style.

Any questions at any stage do message me - use me as a resource to help you.

To kick off make sure you have read through Getting Started and FAQs. Any questions on individual modules please ask by clicking "Lesson Discussions" located on the lesson video page.

Stay in touch, Elaine
