I Love Hats Because?: I've always loved hats for what they say about the person and the times, on a formal compositional basis as miniature pieces of architecture, sculpture, art and as the next step in a craft that has evolved in techniques , materials and artisanal traditions since people have been drawing pictures on caves, urns to posting on Pinterest. I also just like the smiles I get even at the grocery store or even hardware store, people who roll down the window of their car at a stop light to just say hello that would not happen without that hat.

About Me: Washed up English major who went to grad school in costume design where one of my department heads gave me the freedom to explore the school's hat collection with out limit and showed me her favorite techniques. That got me an invitation to work in the best millinery shops serving Broadway, opera, ballet, Disney and have contributed millinery to theatrical productions all across the country. Working on 7th Avenue I learned the ropes of how the fashion industry works now so I am excited about combining everything I've learned and adding what's coming up new, 3-D printing, digital printing, new materials, repurposing and up- cycling and low-voltage wearable electronics and putting it all on peoples heads!
