Victorian Style Hat - 1800s 1900s- Brown Patterned Velvet

Vintage reproduction of a Victorian style walking hat from the late 1800s to the early 1900s in shades of brown and black.

Good for Victorian, Edwardian, Steampunk, Goth, SASS, or re-enactment costuming.

This reproduction hat was handmade with a buckram base. It was then covered in a brown patterned vintage velvet with a satin underlining around the brim, crown, and underbrim.

There is a large multi-looped bow at the side in a brown and black taffeta with sewn on soutache design. This bow has been wired and backed with wide grosgrain ribbon.

The crown band is a vintage brown grosgrain ribbon.

The black and brown flowing ostrich feathers are combined with a small wing of peacock feathers which are accented with a passementarie medallion that matches the vintage brim edging.

The hat is meant to sit atop and forward on the head with the up-do curls cascading from either side.

The hat sits atop the head and it has an elastic band and a comb at the back that aids to help secure it to the hairstyles of the day.

Fits most head sizes. The hat is satin lined and has a grosgrain band.
