Victorian Style Hat Black & Deep Royal Blue-

Vintage reproduction of a Victorian style walking hat from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.

This reproduction hat was handmade with a buckram base. It was then covered in a black velvet around the brim and underbrim and the crown was covered in a vintage woven fabric of deep royal blue strawcloth and velvet.

The same fabric that covers the crown was fashioned into a crown band and a large multi-looped bow at the back. Around the crown I used a vintage black crin accent that was ruffled to show its beautiful pattern.

The crown band is accented at the front with a vintage black and silver buckle and the brim edge is highlighted with a black braid that has deep royal blue chenille and silver highlights.

The 2 extra wide and double hand curled ostrich feathers sweep to the back and over the crown adding a very feminine touch.

The hat is slightly pointed in the front . It is meant to sit atop and forward on the head with the up-do curls cascading from either side.

The hat sits atop the head and it has an elastic band to help secure it to the hairstyles of the day.

Fits most head sizes. The hat is satin lined and has a grosgrain band.
