Reproduction Victorian Edwardian Traveling Hat Late 1800s to Early 1900s

Vintage reproduction of a Victorian / Edwardian traveling hat from the late 1800s to the early 1900's. This is much like the hats you see in old westerns when the lady exits the stagecoach.

This reproduction hat was handmade from a buckram base. It was then covered in a light gray satin and covered again in a vintage silver gray embroidered lace both on the upper and lower brim as well as the crown.

The brim edge is a darker gray velvet.

Accenting the hat is a beautiful 6" wide gray grosgrain ribbon arranged in folded multi-loops with flowers and leaves in pink, gray, and black along the crown edge. A smaller matching grosgrain ribbon acts as a band around the crown of the hat.

The feathers sweep to the back and are an attraction that cannot be missed. There is a grouping of pink and black burnout ostrich feathers that add the feminine touch.

The hat is pointed in the front and the back is tipped up. It is meant to sit atop and forward on the head with the up-do curls cascading from either side.

The hat sits atop the head and it has both loops for combs or hairpins and an elastic band to help secure it to the hairstyles of the day.

The hat is satin lined and has a grosgrain band.

Great for costuming, theater, re-enactors, Victorian Societies, SASS
