I feel so blessed to join this academy site! I need all the help I can get please! I am new to millinery (long time dream) and I need to know where to start? Which classes of Elaine's do I begin with and what equipment should I start with? Any advise is appreciated.. Thanks in advance.

If the wonderful world of millinery is new to you the best starting point is Lesson 1 as basics in blocking & wiring are explained. Check out VIDEOS on top banner for info on Blocks & bias plus hand stitches you require in millinery. Practice these and when you need them in lessons you will move through lesson quicker. Check this page out http://hatacademy.com/forum/topics/getting-started   plus view quick tour on Right Hand side.

The basic equipment you require is a sewing machine - preferably an old one as straw can be harsh with fully computerised machines. A dome block and Perfection Brim block with collar is required also and basic sewing equipment. http://shop.hatacademy.com/collections/hat-blocks

Also available are Lesson Bundles to suit your requirements and budget. http://shop.hatacademy.com/collections/lesson-bundles

Look forward to connecting on Saturday @ USQ - The students display for their 10 days workshop will show the 50+ pieces they have created  -Elaine
