Hi all, newbie amature milliner here! I'm trying to make for myself a copy of Elsa Schiaparelli's famous Dali-inspired shoe-hat from 1937 (see below pics of a couple of ones she made). Only thing is, as it obviously doesn't fit any traditonal hat block shapes, I'm struggling to figure out how to actualy shape it. Any ideas/tips?

I wonder if a real shoe in a large size might work?  Or a knick nack in the shape of a shoe?  Good luck!
