hat steamer ideas?

Hello Everyone!,

I want to get started on my Beginners Course, but cannot afford a hat steamer right now......does anyone have any suggestions and/or success stories using something else?

The kettle- preferably one for the hob that doesn't switch itself off once it reaches boiling point. Also, another cost effective way is using a wallpaper stripper and cutting the hose down to a manageable size. Both work fantastically well and are widely used throughout the profession.
