I love using silk in my work to elevate the quality, but not always sure I’m using the right kind. How is this as an assessment of the appropriateness of different silk fabrics in different parts of the bar?

Hat Body: brocade, duponi/shangtung, organza, habotai (??), velvet, satin, taffeta, charmeuse (?)

linings: habotai, satin, charmeuse

bindings: any of the above?

trims (flowers, bows, etc): pretty much anything, some less stiff fabrics may need interfacing/wiring for support but could still be used

silk crepe while lovely doesn’t really seem fitting for millinery
