Not sure that it is a "trend" but last year I made a number of larger brim hats, but this year my orders have all been for fascinators on the larger side with a couple of them asking for large flowers

I have two outfits, one hot pink, the other bright blue, with hats to match.

I saw a lot of fascinators at Melbourne cup here in Hong Kong. The hat that won best hat was covered in flowers and had a really thick yellow could have been plastic veiling covering the eyes. Here is a photo. The one on the far right. Also, the hat on the far left, had little ears on either side. it was very cute

I do not really know why I believe this but I think perchers will be the thing for racing this Spring along with the standard wide brim. Colors are a question mark for me for as soon as I think I have it figured out, I get orders for something entirely different.
