Hats are a petty specific category in the fashion world. I like to refer to a hat as a three-dimensional sculptural object that defines and characterizes the identity of the person wearing it. I noticed that most people who wear hats are people with a unique and individual personality.
About Me
My name is Yael Cohen & I am a Bachelor graduate of the Design & Art department of HIT with an M.A.in Film & Television Arts from the Tel-Aviv University. I work the line between design, art & fashion using unique & non-conform connections of concept, shape & matter. I have presented my works in exhibitions in Israel & abroad. I also lecture a course of millinery design in the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design in Jerusalem.
Justine Hats-
The studio was founded by me from the will to create a sincere & relevant dialog in the millinery & fashion field in Israel as part of my cultural – social outlook.
The hats created at Justine Studio are fully hand crafted, and are based upon the old art of traditional hat making.
The studio designs & produces two collections each year – winter & summer. Each collection differs in the materials, design line & concept. The concept of the designs incorporates values of fun, simplicity, originality & intelligence which all come together into a classic-elegant design that remains fun & cheeky.
The production process utilizes wooden molds and models, which give the finished product the precise shape, size and feel. The materials are stretched upon the mold using steam heat and are then crafted and sewn with utmost attention to the finest detail.
