Through millinery I enjoy a creative freedom unrivaled by any other craft I've experimented with. I love the mix of traditional skills and contemporary materials, and the emphasis on quality construction rather than 'fast fashion'. My personal preference is for more tailored pieces - a 'less is more' approach.
About Me
I have always had a passion to create, and if I wasn't a milliner or jewellery designer I would probably be a seamstress. My family joke they can't tell whether I'm at work or leisure, as more often than not it's the same thing - sat at my workbench sewing, hammering silver or sketching some new design.
I began my millinery journey after being gifted a days hat-making experience. I had already opened a jewellery business but was enchanted by all the blocks, the rolls of fabric and the boxes of trims. I immediately went home and bought a block, and have never looked back.
Isobel Robinson (formerly Lillibets Millinery) is now an established millinery and jewellery design studio run from my home in Yorkshire, UK. My designs have been seen at Royal Ascot, Cheltenham, the Derby and featured in TATLER, BRIDES, Liz Earle's Wellbeing magazine and various regional publications.
