I know, I think we came to this business too late. I would love some of the old tools.
I block my husbands hats on a dome block and put the fedora trilby shape in after the brim. It keeps me from messing up the crown.

There are definately advantages to formal training, but being self-taught also has its advantages. I have often said that I succeed at my attempts, because I am not smart enough to know it won't work. LOL
