My Winning Hat from the Inaugural Queen's Plate Millinery Design Competition, July 6, 2014

This is the hat that won first place in the inaugural Queen's Plate Millinery Design Competition at Woodbine Racetrack, July 6, 2014. I designed and made it. I was a millinery student trained at George Brown College invited to compete and one of the fourteen who were semi-finalists. Judges were local television personality Traci Melchor, Cristina Grossi, Manager of Fashion & Creative Arts from Centre for Continuous Learning, George Brown College, Official Milliner to the Queen's Plate David Dunkley and Bri Mott of Fashion at the Races. The prize was $1,000 and a plaque.
