Russian born, Tatiana Rakhmanina made her first hat at 12years of age under the watchful eye of her grandmother, Larissa who was a milliner in St Petersburg in “the golden age of hats” – the first half of the 20th century. Tatiana’s study of languages and world cultures led to a fascination with historical costume and headwear. When she moved to USA in 1990 millinery became her ‘life' with her hats adorning elegant ladies at Kentucky Derby Day and around the globe. Her skill to create just the right fabric for the style is part of Tatiana’s special talent. This spotted straw creation with a brim extension  is stunning and a fine example of her finish & style.
