If you follow Hat Academy Top Pics for the week most likely one of Sharons hats will be there. With 20 years of experience in millinery her focus is to express herself through our history, by recreating vintage styled hats using traditional techniques and supplies. This pretty 1950/60s style pillbox hat is made from a quality vintage woven straw – note the tight weave of the parisisal. The pillbox is wrapped in two colors of French Maline tulle, light and deep tangerine, to match the flower colours. Vintage colour combinations set her work apart alongside her handmade flowers. “Study the past, if you would divine the future.”
