Combining her love of crocheting and millinery Debra Brunner of California has designed this fabulous Gatsby styled Toque. Note the row of black crocheting around the upper rim defining the flat tip of the toque. Is it a French word or Spanish?  No it is actually a Arabic word but adapted by the Spanish as the word for headgear - “tocado”  Originally designed with an open top it was also chosen as a French chef’s cap only to be accepted as a fashion style for ladies Medieval Headwear in the 15th century.  Such a stylish way to keep the head warm this winter.
