Delmar California Opening Race Day Hat Competition 2nd place Most Glamorous Louisa Voisine Millinery July 17 contest

I recently entered the Delmar Opening Race Day in California Hat Contest. It is the Kentucky Derby of the West Coast and I have never seen so many hats in one place other than the Kentucky Derby.

There was a great deal of competition and I was thrilled with the outcome. My design came in at 2nd place in the Glamour Category.

Sinamay Color Card

Colour co-ordination is essential when designing headwear with your client. Nine times out of ten they purchase the outfit firstly, then come to the milliner requesting you to match the straw. The best way is to use swatches of straw available here from The Feather Shop at a minimal cost.
