About Me: My name is Solvita. I am specialized at millinery flower making and I am designer and teacher. At my studio in Riga (Latvia) we make flowers from many kinds of materials, for example, silk, leather, linen etc. I always make sure that the highest quality materials are selected to obtain best results. All items are handmade and every one is unique and only in one piece.
Once material is chosen the next step is its stiffening. Than each flower petal is cut out using patterns. Later petals are hand painted with a mix of selected textile dyes. Next is shape giving to each petal. There are used techniques that are worldwide known since 17th century, which includes use of a set of special tools heated to high temperatures.

In 2016 I graduate a Japanese flower making school "Somebana", with certificate.
