- I am a Sydney milliner.
I primarily started out as a fashion milliner in the early 1980's ,after studying Fashion at TAFE,but soon became obsessed with theatrical millinery. I teach millinery in my Sydney studio and have also taught Cert II in millinery at Ultimo TAFE. I worked with Rosie Boylan on the millinery for 'Australia' and had the great fortune of also working on 'The Great Gatsby' as a milliner. I am thrilled that the trailer has generated such interest.It really was a milliner's dream to be a part of the team creating the headwear for this film.

The Great Gatsby
Have just had a wonderful week working with Rosie Boylan and Cheryl Rounsefell recreating some of the headwear we made for The Great Gatsby. These recreated pieces will feature in an exhibition in New York for Prada in the lead up to the film's premiere.

king kong , the musical
Am currently working with another Hat Academy member Christine Thompson and also milliner Rick McGill on the headwear for the new show 'King Kong, the musical'. We have a huge amount of work ahead of us, but are up for the challenge.

Welcome to Hat Academy Margaret. Wonderful to have you share your experience in theatre an area I have had little experience except for local theatre which involved multiples of pillboxes or federation hats or newsboys caps but has always been great to get free ticket to the productions. Congrats on your work in Gatsby -what a privilege. We will be promoting it when released !

I loved this movie and your hats were stunning and fabulous in it. I have friends in theatre and entertainment as well, and I can see an exciting journey ahead, right from knowing the play writers to seeing the finished performances in their entirety. To me, this is a wonderful part of millinery and culture to be involved in, so nice to hear about you!
