Reproduction Early 1900s Straw Boater in Blue and White

Vintage Reproduction of an early 1900s boater in blue and white.

The hat is made from vintage dark blue sewn sisal straw cartwheel which was blocked in two separate sections to create the crown and brim. Both have been wired so they keep their shape.

The crown band was created with two sizes of grosgrain and the large bow at the back is a third type of grosgrain in a striped blue and white to match the colors in the hat. This large bow was also wired with millinery ribbon wire so that the bow will stay crisp and upright.

The bow area of the hat is also clustered with three double curled ostrich feathers and sweet vintage blue and white flowers.

The hat was made so it could be worn with the feathers and bow in the back as shown or it can be turned around so the feathers and bow are in the front.

This hat was hand formed and sewn by me. This would be great for costumers, SASS members, Civil War re-enactors or Victorian teas.

Fits most as it sits atop the head and not onto the head. The headsize opening is 21" so your headsize should be at least 22"

There is an elastic strap which goes around the back of the head and there are combs at both the front and back.
