Tykhe ~ The Goddess of Wealth

TYKHE (Tyche), in Greek mythology, was the goddess of fortune, chance, providence and fate. She was usually honoured in a more favourable light as Eutykhia (Eutychia), goddess of good fortune, luck, success and prosperity. Tyche has absolute control and divine authority over luck.

How she was made:

She has been constructed entirely by using only wire and vegan feathers. The wire was manipulated into the desired shapes, overlaid on top of each other to form the final frame and connected to the handmade headband to support the structure. The whole wire frame was tightly wrapped with burgundy yarn entwined with lurex so the vegan feathers could be sewn onto it.

Each feather was made by hand using sinamay straw. After cutting the shapes and fraying the edges, they were manipulated further with heat to represent straw feathers. Each feather was carefully sewn onto the wire frame by hand, and finished off with small sequins here and there to catch the light.

Tykhe is a unique piece of art that will add mystery to any outfit ♥
