Repoduction 1800s Day Bonnet -Vintage Brown & Black Straw (back and side)

This Beautiful reproduction of an 1800s bonnet hat is all hand formed and hand sewn. This would be great for costumers, Regency, Victorian, or Civil War re-enactors as well as SASS members.

The bonnet was blocked from a Vintage black and milk chocolate brown colored woven straw hood. I then hand turned and sewed the edges to allow for the addition of the lace. This is considered a day bonnet and has a smaller brim allowing for more of the face to be seen from the side.

The lawn cotton lining was embroidered with my logo, the lining sides slightly gathered around the edges for a more period appearance, and then hand stitched into place.

The black lace was hand gathered and hand sewn around the inside edge of the bonnet brim and at the back.

A lovely vintage brown moire ribbon was sewn around the crown and allowed to fall into ties to secure the hat to the head. This same ribbon was used to create pretty bows at each side and at the back.

To complete the look, vintage flowers in matching black and brown were attached to one side in an asymmetrical pattern.

The bonnet fits best on smaller head sizes 20" - 22 1/2" and is held onto the head with the ribbon ties.
