Nyx ~ The Goddess of Night

NYX, in Greek mythology, is the female personification of night. She has a shadowy figure, and in ancient art, Nyx was drawn in three different ways. She was either winged, charioteer, or crowned with an aureole of dark mists. Nyx is a very unique goddess and has divine authority and absolute control over shadows and darkness.

How she was made:

Nyx has been constructed entirely by using only wire and vegan feathers. The wire was manipulated into the desired shape and connected to the handmade headband to support the structure. The whole wire frame was tightly wrapped with black tulle so the vegan feathers could be sewn onto it.

Each feather was made by hand using sinamay straw. After cutting the shapes and fraying the edges, they were manipulated further with heat to represent straw feathers. Each feather was carefully sewn onto the wire frame by hand, ensuring even spacing. Two Swarovski crystals feature at the start and end of the frame as a finishing touch.

Nyx is a unique piece of art that will add drama to any outfit
