This navy blue straw sun hat is perfect for the Kentucky Derby enthusiast. It was hand blocked from a vintage straw braid cartwheel that has been accented with additional woven straw. After it was hand blocked, the brim was wired for shape. Silver lamé and vintage navy blue strawcloth was added to the underside of the brim.

Once the hat was shaped it was steamed and rolled to give it its extra shine.

A beautiful vintage trim in navy blue and silver flower embroidery was fashioned into the crown band.

Once again I used the silver lamé and the navy strawcloth to sew a huge bow. This accents the front side of the hat.

The finishing touch was to add flowers that were hand made from the silver lamé to the center of the bow.

The inside is unlined but does have a grosgrain band. If you would like a comb or elastic added for extra stability please let me know upon purchase so I can add it to the hat before shipping.

Fits head sizes 22" to 22 1/2" comfortably.
