1946 Reproduction Green Felt Tilt Hat

The inspiration behind this hat actually came from a surprising place: I was recently very lucky to be able to purchase the leftover classroom supplies that once belonged to a millinery student who graduated in 1946 from the Louie Miller School of Millinery. The kit included a two-piece wooden hat block, and many leftover decorations. I used the vintage hat block and a piece of lime green wool felt to create the hat, and wired the outer edge. The inside (crown) of the hat is lined with green grosgrain ribbon. The outside of the hat is decorated with pink vintage veiling, vintage roses, and a spray of black vintage feathers - all of which I found in the leftover supplies of that 1940s millinery lot. The crown of the hat is circled with dark pink vintage ribbon, and I used some of the leftover lime green felt to make a bow to decorate the back of the hat.
