The base of this unique button fascinator is hand blocked blue felt.
The fascinator with its vintage blue and orange veiling is fashioned to represent a plethora of butterflies being self captured in a butterfly net.
It is accented with vintage passementerie butterflies embroidered in blue, yellow, and orange.
The "net" is held in the air by an ostrich feather quill dyed to match the butterfly wings and curled to follow the flow of the hat.
This hat is part of my tribute to the famous Chicago hatter Bes-Ben.
There is lots of texture so be sure to use the zoom feature. Perfect for your next Lepidopteran Convention.
The hat is held onto the head with an elastic band that goes around the back of the head by the neck and can be further secured with a comb on the inside of the hat.
