This dusty green hand-blocked cloche fits closely on the head and has an upturned brim. It is trimmed with a soft brown ribbon and an unusual finish in a spray of feathers: natural emu and three stripped feathers with a green iridescence at the very tips.

Trish has a character that is part deer and part elf. She stands out with a radiant beauty, but shows it shyly. You can hide a bit under her brim. Be a little coy. Bat your eyelashes.

She becomes even more beautiful with a closer look. The felt I used is called a salome (a dancer of scarves?), millinery vocabulary for a felt made of a multitude of colored fibers. There is green, brown, gold. Colors of the forest, blended together.

I trimmed her with feathers that are equally coy. The emu feathers are stiff, almost like grass. The three stripped feathers ripple like leaves on a breezy day, but shine with green iridescence that might mirror the dream world.

I use the highest quality materials available, and do my best to source my supplies from small businesses. I’m thrilled that I recently found a manufacturer of fine millinery ribbon in the United States!

The felt is high grade millinery fur felt. It is exceedingly soft to the touch and rich in color. I love to line my hats in thai silk in brilliant colors. Linings don’t have to match-- they are your secret. This hat is lined in bright spring green.

Each hat is blocked by hand on antique wooden hat blocks, and I make each stitch by hand with a needle and thread. It takes me roughly 16 hours to create a hat by hand. I’m a little crazy, but I truly do love the process.

I want you to love this hat as much as I do so I am very happy to fix problems that may arise.
