This beautiful straw sun hat is a timeless hat. It is perfect for the Kentucky Derby. The shape and style would fit into any era and any occasion.

It was hand blocked from a vintage woven straw braid cartwheel that has been accented with fine vintage Swiss lace. After it was hand blocked, the brim was wired for shape, and vintage white lace was added to the underside of the brim and to the crown to give a softer effect around the wearer's face.

A lovely straw colored ribbon was used as the crown band. The same ribbon was then fashioned into 3 large roses for the front of the hat.

The finishing touch was to add clusters of vintage velvet flowers among the roses.

It was all hand sewn and hand blocked.

The inside is unlined but does have a grosgrain band. If you would like a comb or elastic added for extra stability please let me know upon purchase so I can add it to the hat before shipping.

Fits head sizes 22" to 22 1/2" comfortably.
