August Swings

This is the hat I made for the HATalk Upcycling contest. Didn't win, but it was fun trying. The hat is a 1940s style tilt hat made from a melted and shaped record and men's vintage silk neckties that I made into a bandeau and six roses. It's a tribute to my grandfather, Augustine Truppi, who lead a swing band back in the 1930s and 40s.
