This turban toque hat is made from vintage Swiss Feather Straw that has been sewn over a lightweight buckram base . It has been formed to accent the sleek lines and folds simulating feathers.
This is a reproduction of a hat shown in a 1965 "CHAPEAUX MODELES" magazine. It was made for Jacques Isler Company. They were the makers of this "feather straw" and based in Switzerland. This is some of their original feather straw that I acquired when I took over one of the oldest hat shops in Chicago where I trained as a milliner.
The 1st picture is my version pictured next to the original ad.
Great for a Mother-of-the-Bride (or Groom) hat, church, luncheon, cocktails or any nice event. I can be accessorized in a great number of ways if you wished.
The hat is made so that it sits on to the head.
It is satin lined and has a grosgrain band. Fits head sizes 21" to 22 1/2" comfortably
