#130110 - Opposites Attract
Epitomising elegance this brilliant white parisisal straw has been handblocked into this sensational shape reminiscent of "My Fair Lady'. Featuring handmade edging in opposing colours (white on black on the outer edge/black on white on the inner edge) which has been carried through to the band and double flat bow.
The crown is lined and finished with a petersham headband. Secures with an elastic.

Thanks Elaine - I'm rather stoked at how well it turned out.
That was the material i spoke to you about quite awhile ago - where I was initially thinking of doing the whole brim one colour on top and the opposing underneath. I did use the iron on stuff (can't think what it is called) on it and it worked fine. You may remember we were a bit concerned as to how well it would take it.
I love that brim block too - and I have a piece that goes on top of it so it can be used as a coolie type block. Bit disappointed though that I have only had it about 12 months and the timber is cracking.

This is beautiful. What is the horinzontal measurement of the trimming (black & white) used for the brim. Thank you. I love its wideness. I also want to ask if sinamy material is used under the straw to enable stiffness.

Thanks Glee. the brim is 2cm and it is made from a stiffened parisisal capeline.
