I usually go to Flemington for the Spring Carnival in Melbourne. If you're going to Melbourne Cup this is a day where "anything goes". It's still dressy but the outrageous outfits of colour and wow factor are Melbourne Cup. I always wear bright colours and try not to take myself too seriously!!!! Mind you, I spend most of my time marvelling at the outfits of others and find it hard to fit all the socialising, horse racing, fashions etc into one day! Most milliners however, wouldn't miss Oaks Day which is the big day for FOTF and Millinery Award. Derby and Stakes are my favourite days, Derby (black and white) and Stakes (relaxed and usually a great day to recap on what has happened, raceweek romances, goss, sore heads and feet). Enjoy!
