Hello all, any advice on dyeing stiffened sinamay.

I have managed to dye the feathers to the exact colour needed to match a dress for a client, but when I tried to dye the sinamay it came out far too pale. I know that the stiffener will resist the dye, but really cannot find anything anywhere to match a blue/violet.
