sizing solutions
Hello Academy,
I am trying to research formulas for hat stiffeners. I am interested in a shellac based sizing, and I wonder if anyone knows of additives that are sometimes used with shellac. My present formula of 1/2 shellac and 1/2 denatured alcohol can leave a board finish, OK for some things, but I would like the nice firm finish that you can get in a mens hat sized at the factory. Any ideas? Thanks, Ignatius
