memory wire
Hello all Australian milliners - can anybody tell me where I can find steel sprung wire (memory wire)? I want it for a large unsupported hat brim.

Hi Ruth, In amongst my "Stuff" I have some wire that may suit - you can have it to experiment with. I bought from a hat manufacturer years ago but never used. PM me with your address & will put in post. Something I have used over the years is the wire frame from those silver sunscreens we would put over the front window of our car when parking outside. A much wider wire but works well for huge brims - other than that double row of millinery wire works well. Not sure if you can still buy the plastic brim wire with connectors in Australia. -Elaine
