About Me: Started in 2010, Monstruosité was created as a creative outlet for designer Dolly Donshey, whose vision consisted mainly of the dark and dreary. After learning the art of hat making from Melbourne School of Millinery, Australia Alumni Jan Wutkowski, Dolly started her millinery brand in hopes of bringing her never-before-seen pieces to life using new and unusual millinery techniques and devices.

Catering to the confident women of the world, Donshey masters the art of balance, always keeping in mind the importance of femininity with touches of dark masculinity. Known for her use of taxidermy, Donshey incorporates many animal wings, bones, skulls and feathers in ways that are strangely alluring and seductive. Anyone who wears a Monstruosité piece is sure to be the center of attention.

Donshey is most proud of the personal experience and bond that is formed with her clients when working on custom pieces. All pieces are made by hand in her studio in Tarpon Springs, FL and every design decision is approved by the client every step of the way, ensuring 100% satisfaction. Donshey is trained in creating handmade bridal veils and headpieces, cocktail hats, hats for the races and avant garde/high fashion pieces.
