I loved it when my mum would get a new hat for a wedding and I inherited my grandma's one and only hat block...if it could talk it may reveal all the secrets she held.
I can't put it into words other than I get a warm feeling inside when I see a hat on a head... And always have to say so to the wearer... Annie
About Me
If I could turn back time I would have studied millinery...had no idea that you could, and years later when I decided to learn there were no courses available in Western Australia were I live just to think of all those hat blocks sitting idle in store cupboards with there stories held inside of all those who had touched them nearly drove me insane. So now with the advent of the internet I explore millinery and today I found the academy... Thank you.
Wonderful you found our website Annie. So pleased you have joined me in Hat Academy and hope you find it inspiring. I am committed to helping you add to your skills.
I set this up to help Beginners -once you learn the basic techniques you will be surprised how creative you can be. Millinery is a creative art & in huge demand currently. Any questions do message me here.
I lived in Central Qld for 23 yrs and really set this up to share skills with the girls in the outback who are isolated from a college that teaches millinery. I am so excited to read your journey. Glad you have kept that precious block. Look forward to sharing with you. Should I visit visit Perth / Broome will let you know. Stay in touch.
